7 Spartans make GA Lacrosse All Star Team!

One of our Georgia Lacrosse All Stars honored at senior night. Seven Spartans made the 2013 All Star Team!
Congratulations to these Spartan Lacrosse players named to the 2013 GA All Star Team: Eric Fancher, Matt Johnson, Rebecca Galanti, Emma Neish, Ashlyn Powell, Sarah Smith, Ariel Siegel and Sarah Smith!

Congrats also to varsity coaches Paul Brown and Jaci Steinhart.

Spartans participate in College Week at Ison Springs

Several NS college-bound Spartans visited Ison Springs for their College and Career week activites inspiring these future Spartans to plan on college. From this photo it’s evident the Dawgs and Yellow Jackets have the edge!

On Friday, April 26, seniors Deja Shands, Gabrielle Jackson, Beatrice Baker and Felicia Lewis from NS’ College and Career Center participated in College and Career Week activities at Ison Springs Elementary School. The event planned by the Ison Springs counseling department to inspire their young students was a success!

College & Career Center hosts senior cookout!

College-bound Spartans enjoy today’s cookout hosted by the College and Career center volunteers – hotdogs, hamburgers, music, and raffle tickets to win a beach bucket for summer fun were on the menu. Congrats Spartans!  Check the web for more photos and senior updates soon.

Spartan Athletes Sign and Celebrate

Julia Abelsky signs to fence at Northwestern University! She was the first of seven senior athletes honored at Tuesday’s College Signing Party. The other athletes include Sylvonna Rogers playing basketball at L.B. Wallace Community College, Eric Fancher, playing lacrosse at Young Harris College, Xavier Landers playing baseball at Paine College and track stars Diaja Oliver, Dejane Oliver and Cheyenne Wells, who’ll be competing at State in May!

Crashed Car Event Makes An Impact

In a dramatic simulation Sandy Springs fire fighters remove door from crashed car to free “teacher victims” trapped inside. NSCHS juniors and seniors attended today’s event sponsored by SGA and Liberty Mutual to make an impact and encourage students, especially before prom, to be safe, responsible drivers!

Saturday @ North Springs is April 20th!

 

Saturday @ North Springs is Saturday, April 20th. We’ll be celebrating 50 years of Educational Excellence as we kick off NS’ 50th anniversary. From the 5K & Fun Run to carnival games, powder puff football, the art show, live music, food, 1pm celebration kick off & Miss Saigon matinee it will be a FUN & festive day. Don’t miss it!

600 Spartans trained today in CPR!

Takii, Brooklynn and Brooke are 3 of nearly 600 Spartans that got CPR training today from the Sandy Springs Fire Dept. Thanks to the City of Sandy Springs, every student got to take home a CPR kit complete with an inflatable mannequin and DVD- a retail value of nearly $40, the opportunity to learn CPR- priceless!

Governor’s Honors Finalists!

These Spartans are thrilled to have been selected for the presitigous 2013 Governors Honors Program!

By the weekend these Spartans had learned great news, they’d been selected for the coveted Governor’s Honors Program this summer at Valdosta State University. Going for dance - Alex Mannings and Maia Charanis, for theatre performance- Cameron Frostbaum, for music- Christine Cummins and for technical theatre – Mara Siegel!
